Despite the fact that as the author one would naturally expect that I would say the following - I will still go ahead and do just that, because it's true. This 19 page handbook is valuable, not for it's size, but for the distilled wisdom obtained from analysing my numerous experiences in self-education. I completed it, one week in May 2002 and decided to visit the office of the Programmes Manager, NTA 2 Cannel 5, Victoria Island to introduce my idea for a short weekly TV programme based on the book. Note that I had NEVER met/spoken with this gentleman before then, but in my usual never-say-die attitude, I simply drove in to the NTA premises and asked for his office.

Although, it never became a TV programme, the experience for me was valuable.

I decided to write this book when I noticed how so many people start off to learn a new language (local or foreign) and end up stopping halfway – or sometimes even finishing without being able to read/write or speak the language they spent so long attending classes on! (This includes graduates of language courses like French, Italian etc). A lot of factors are responsible for this problem but most critical is the fact that many do not know there are specific things they can do that will make learning a new language an almost painless and excitingly beneficial experience.

This book reveals Five Steps derived using techniques that I discovered over 7 years ago, and which I have since repeatedly applied in learning to successfully achieve a wide range of personal goals/objectives I set for myself. These steps are based on the principles of Self-Development - a concept that I advocate for people from all walks of life to adopt and use.
